Cemeteries are an essential element in our communities, no less important than markets, shops, roads, housing, police and fire protection. Churches are essential for community worship; schools educate our children; libraries nourish learning and hospitals care for the ill as well as assist in bringing new citizens into the world.
The cemetery is a real part of the whole family life-cycle of the community it serves. Cemeteries are spiritual as well as historical with roots over 200 years old. Not a competitive enterprise for profit, cemeteries are mainly a public service.
The feeling of the countless families who will lose someone dear to them have a large claim on us who have the responsibility of operating and maintaining their cemeteries.
Care for loved ones who have passed away is not only a necessity, it is a sacred privilege. To provide an adequate, well maintained place for those loved ones is our constant challenge.

I have not seen or found any evidence of one of our cemeteries being named “Park Cemetery”. I will continue to research your question and will contact you if I do find evidence of a “Park Cemetery”. My suspicion is that you are looking for Central Cemetery on Grove Street. If you email me the particulars of your genealogical search, I will look through our records and send you an email outside of this blog forum. Joshua Knechtel.
